KURT VARGO

The paintings, prints, and textures are a game of chance, combining free-form, brightly colored, or black and white geometric shapes that are activated by traditional and/or digital pigment combinations. I then organize these into a balanced design of pictorial structure and visual harmony. The transfer of the traditional image to the digital template invites unexpected line weights, tonal shifts, brushstroke personalities and substrate surface tensions that give the final paintings their identity. It's a process that invites the imagery to be transformed as high quality digital serigraphs, murals and paintings to be exhibited in larger formats for gallery, home and corporate environments.
 
All works presented are a combination of acrylics, oil pastels, cut paper/collage and digital media.
